Bridgetown is the capital and largest city of Barbados, located within the parish of Saint Michael. The Greater Bridgetown area had a metropolitan population of about 110,000 as of 2014. It serves as a major West Indies tourist destination and an important financial, informatics and cruise-ship port in the Caribbean. It was established in 1628.
