Dominica is an island country in the Windward Islands chain of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, with a land area of about 750 square kilometers and its highest point, Morne Diablotins, at 1,448 meters. It gained sovereignty from the United Kingdom on 3 November 1978. Its capital is Roseau.
