Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, bordering Serbia to the east, Montenegro to the southeast, and Croatia to the north and southwest, with a short coastline on the Adriatic Sea in the south. It declared independence from Yugoslavia on 3 March 1992. It functions as a parliamentary republic with a tripartite rotating presidency established under the 1995 Dayton Agreement. Its capital is Sarajevo.
